Whisky-Glazed Chicken Skewers

Tender chicken pieces grilled to perfection and coated in a sticky glaze of whisky, honey, soy sauce, and garlic. Sweet, savoury, and slightly smoky, these skewers are packed with flavour and ideal for dipping, sharing, or serving straight from the pan.

Great as a party bite, BBQ addition, or midweek treat, they’re easy to prep and cook in minutes. Try a sprinkle of sesame seeds for extra crunch, or swap in tofu for a vegetarian twist. Best served hot, with napkins at the ready—these won’t last long.

 Ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 2 tbsp whisky

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • Wooden skewers

Instructions:

  1. Soak the skewers in water for 10 minutes to prevent burning.

  2. In a small bowl, mix whisky, honey, soy sauce, and garlic.

  3. Thread the chicken pieces onto the skewers and brush with the glaze.

  4. Grill or cook in a non-stick pan over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.

  5. Serve hot as a savoury snack.

Tips & Variations:

  • Use tofu for a vegetarian version.

  • Add a sprinkle of sesame seeds for extra flavour.

In these recipes we haven’t specified the whisky to use, as you know what you like best, and it also allows you to experiment.

However, if you want a start, a good light, vanilla forward single malt to use would be The Glasgow Distillery’s Original. If you are looking to add some smokey depth, try The English Smokey, or if you want something fruity, try Arran Sherry Cask ‘The Bodega’.
