Returning to The Lower Red Lion, St Albans on Saturday 15 May 2027
Summerton Whisky Festival is back for 2027, returning to the brilliant surroundings of The Lower Red Lion in St Albans for another relaxed day of whisky, conversation and discovery.
Hosted by Summerton Whisky Club, the festival brings together a carefully chosen line-up of drams from across the whisky world, with independent bottlers, distilleries and whisky specialists pouring everything from approachable favourites to rare and unusual finds.
Whether you are new to whisky or already deep into the world of single malts, blends, world whiskies and independent bottlings, this is a festival built around enjoyment rather than formality. Come along, meet the people behind the bottles, explore new flavours and spend the day with fellow whisky drinkers in one of St Albans’ best-loved pubs.
What to expect
A welcoming whisky festival with great drams, good people and plenty to discover.
Expect a broad range of whiskies to taste, including single malts, independent bottlings, world whiskies and special pours chosen to give guests something genuinely interesting in the glass.
You will have the chance to chat directly with exhibitors, ask questions, learn more about the bottles being poured and find new favourites along the way.
The venue
The 2027 festival returns to The Lower Red Lion, St Albans, a characterful pub with the kind of atmosphere that suits whisky perfectly.
Relaxed, friendly and full of charm, it is the ideal setting for a day spent exploring great drams.
