Summerton Gin Experience – February 2025
KNEW Spirits Green Tea Gin

This year we will be sharing different experiences as one-offs, following requests from and conversations with Members. Each experience will meet the Summerton grade of quality at fantastic value.

With gin the most requested additional offering over the years, I thought it appropriate to start there. I also knew that I wanted something that linked to the Club and found it in a green tea gin… which reminded me of a favourite Club Bottle from 2020, Mackmyra Grönt Te, a very unique whisky that used green tea casks to impart an umami flavour to the single malt.

Like with our whisky, getting the best liquid to you is what matters most, and in this case it needed to be in our own bottles as this gin was created by a friend for us.

Should we offer more Summerton Gin Experiences in the future, each time I will look at the options available that provide the best offering in terms of flavour, quality and value, which will include other brands not just ours.

Introducing KNEW Spirits

A KNEW brand… My background is in food and included a lot of product development, something I love. KNEW is my opportunity to do more like that, playing with different spirits and flavours away from whisky (where you will see more from me too). Always small batch and full of flavour, KNEW will allow me to broaden what we offer in the Club Shop whilst making sure it’s always good value.

I will also be partnering with two friends at times, both award winning gin distillers, to help me create some of our KNEW spirits, particularly gin.

Over the years you will hopefully have seen that our impact on the environment is important to me, something I have considered when creating KNEW Spirits. Our facility draws 60% of its power from solar, and our bottles are 22% lighter than similar options and use up to 30% recycled content. Additionally should better options become available we will look to switch where appropriate.
