Whisky Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries
Plump, juicy strawberries dipped in rich dark chocolate spiked with a splash of whisky—simple, elegant, and effortlessly indulgent. The smooth, boozy chocolate sets to a glossy finish, perfectly complementing the natural sweetness of the fruit.
Ideal for dinner parties, romantic treats, or a quick yet classy dessert, these bites are as easy to make as they are to enjoy. Chill until set and serve straight from the fridge. Want to mix it up? Try milk or white chocolate for a sweeter finish, or roll in chopped nuts or coconut for added texture.
Ingredients:
100g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
1 tbsp whisky
10–12 fresh strawberries
Instructions:
Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water.
Stir in the whisky until smooth.
Dip each strawberry into the chocolate, covering about two-thirds.
Place the dipped strawberries on a sheet of parchment paper and let set in the fridge for 10–15 minutes.
Tips & Variations:
Use white or milk chocolate for a sweeter option.
Roll the dipped strawberries in crushed nuts or coconut before the chocolate sets.
In these recipes we haven’t specified the whisky to use, as you know what you like best, and it also allows you to experiment.
However, if you want a start, a good light, vanilla forward single malt to use would be The Glasgow Distillery’s Original. If you are looking to add some smokey depth, try The English Smokey, or if you want something fruity, try Arran Sherry Cask ‘The Bodega’.
