Whisky & Chocolate Energy Balls

Rich cocoa, hearty oats, and creamy peanut butter come together with a splash of whisky to create these no-bake energy balls with a grown-up twist. Sweetened naturally with honey or maple syrup and optionally rolled in coconut, they’re chewy, chocolatey, and just a little bit indulgent.

Perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up, post-workout snack, or a quick treat with your coffee, these bites are easy to make and even easier to eat. Switch up the flavour with almond butter, or add raisins or chocolate chips for an extra hit of texture and sweetness. Keep them chilled and ready whenever you need a boost.

 Ingredients:

  • 150g rolled oats

  • 2 tbsp whisky

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 3 tbsp peanut butter

  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp desiccated coconut (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix all ingredients until well combined.

  2. Roll into small balls and coat with desiccated coconut, if desired.

  3. Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving.

Tips & Variations:

  • Use almond butter instead of peanut butter for a different flavour.

  • Add a handful of raisins or chocolate chips for extra texture.

In these recipes we haven’t specified the whisky to use, as you know what you like best, and it also allows you to experiment.

However, if you want a start, a good light, vanilla forward single malt to use would be The Glasgow Distillery’s Original. If you are looking to add some smokey depth, try The English Smokey, or if you want something fruity, try Arran Sherry Cask ‘The Bodega’.
