Whisky Apple & Brie Bites

Crisp baguette rounds topped with sweet apple slices and creamy brie, finished with a drizzle of whisky-infused honey and baked until golden and bubbling. These elegant bites strike the perfect balance between sweet, savoury, and indulgent—with the warmth of whisky adding a subtle grown-up twist.

Ideal for entertaining or a festive nibble, they’re quick to prepare and even quicker to disappear. Serve them warm from the oven with a glass of wine or a dram. For a variation, swap brie for Camembert, or try pear instead of apple for a softer, sweeter finish.

 Ingredients:

  • 1 small baguette, sliced into rounds

  • 1 apple, thinly sliced

  • 100g brie cheese, sliced

  • 2 tbsp whisky

  • 2 tbsp honey

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan). Place the baguette slices on a baking tray.

  2. Top each slice with a piece of apple and brie.

  3. In a small bowl, mix whisky and honey. Drizzle over the bites.

  4. Bake for 8–10 minutes until the brie is melted and bubbling.

  5. Serve warm as an elegant appetiser.

Tips & Variations:

  • Use Camembert instead of brie for a creamier texture.

  • Substitute apple with pear for a slightly sweeter flavour.

In these recipes we haven’t specified the whisky to use, as you know what you like best, and it also allows you to experiment.

However, if you want a start, a good light, vanilla forward single malt to use would be The Glasgow Distillery’s Original. If you are looking to add some smokey depth, try The English Smokey, or if you want something fruity, try Arran Sherry Cask ‘The Bodega’.
