Whisky Honey Butter Spread

Soft, whipped butter blended with golden honey, a splash of whisky, and a hint of cinnamon for a rich, indulgent spread with a warming kick. Sweet, smooth, and slightly spiced, it’s a simple way to elevate your morning toast or afternoon scone.

Serve it soft and melty over warm pancakes, muffins, or freshly baked bread—or chill it for a firmer texture that’s perfect for spreading. Try maple syrup and plant-based butter for a vegan-friendly version, or add a little orange zest for a bright, citrusy lift.

 Ingredients:

  • 100g unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 tbsp whisky

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • Toast or scones for serving

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, beat the butter until fluffy.

  2. Gradually mix in whisky, honey, and cinnamon (if using) until well combined.

  3. Serve immediately or chill in the fridge for 10 minutes to firm up.

  4. Spread on toast, scones, or pancakes.

Tips & Variations:

  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a vegan alternative with plant-based butter.

  • Add orange zest for a citrus twist.

In these recipes we haven’t specified the whisky to use, as you know what you like best, and it also allows you to experiment.

However, if you want a start, a good light, vanilla forward single malt to use would be The Glasgow Distillery’s Original. If you are looking to add some smokey depth, try The English Smokey, or if you want something fruity, try Arran Sherry Cask ‘The Bodega’.
